Course Description:

In ME12S students learn basic skills using the lathe, milling machine, drill press, saws and precision measurment techniques. The course is taught every quarter. The Engineering Machine Shops are located in the Arts Bldg., Room 0249. This is on the lower level of the Arts Building facing the lagoon.

Enrolling in ME12S
ME12S is open to all students at UCSB. The class is organized into five three-hour sections every quarter. Section times are chosen at the mandatory organizational meeting during the first week of every quarter, and students select their section at the meeting.

Mechanical Engineering Students

Mechanical Engineering students can pre-enroll in ME12S through Gold, and choose their section at the organizational meeting.

Non-Mechanical Engineering Students
Non- ME students should come to the organizational meeting and will be admitted to the course if there is space. We are almost always possible to accommodate all of the students that want to enroll.
