The Department of Mechanical Engineering held its 4th annual convocation and research symposium on October 3, 2007.  The event began with opening remarks by the Department Chair, Professor George "Bud" Homsy, as well as opening remarks by the Dean of the College of Engineering, Matthew Tirrell.  New students were welcomed, followed by an honors and awards ceremony.  There was an introduction of the department's research areas, an overview of design projects by Academic Coordinator, Steve Laguette, and an overview of the Technology Management Program by Katheryn Greenaway, TMP Manager.

A poster session was then held outside ESB 1001, and everyone had a chance to view many research posters, socialize, and enjoy refreshments.
