To add a network printer you need its network name and model number.

The mailroom printers are:

meprint1 HP LaserJet 4100 Series
offcolorps HP Color LaserJet 4600
Drivers for these printers are available on me-server


Add the Black and White laser printer, meprint1

Click Start, Control Panel, Printers and Faxes. Image:Printer1.png
Click Add a printer Image:printnew.png
Click Next Image:printer3.png
Select Local printer attached to this computer and uncheck Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer. Press Next Image:printer4.png
Select Create a new port. Select Standard TCP/IP Port from the list. Press Next. Image:printer5.png
Press Next Image:printer6.png
Enter the Printer Name. In this case we're using meprint1. It will fill in the bottom field for you. Press Next Image:printer7.png
Select Hewlett Packard Jet Direct from the list and press Next. Image:printer8.png
Select HP on the left list and the model on the right. In this case we use HP LaserJet 4100 Series PS. If you're adding the color printer, offcolorps, see more about selecting the correct driver at the bottom of this page. Image:printer9.png
Enter the printer name, meprint1, set as default if you wish, and press Next. Image:printer10.png
Select No and press Next. Image:printer11.png
Click Finish. The printer should now be in your list of printers and you should be able to print to it. Image:printer12.png
If you're adding offcolorps, you must select Windows Update. Windows will take several minutes to download additional drivers. Once this is done you can select the driver under HP on the left and HP Color LaserJet 4600 PCL 6 on the right. Image:printer13.png Image:printer14.png
