Prof. Bassam Bamieh's article, coauthored with M.R. Jovanović, P. Mitra, and S. Patterson,  entitled "Coherence in Large-Scale Networks: Dimension-Dependent Limitations of Local Feedback'' has been selected as the recipient of the  2013 George S. Axelby Outstanding Paper Award.  

This award is the most prestigious best paper award in the discipline of control science, given the for best paper in the  IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control. This is an even more remarkable distinction asit is the second time Prof. Bamieh has won this award, the first being in 2004.
