E.F. MATTHYS : SUMMARY OF RECENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

My recent research activities cover 4 fields that can be grouped in 2 main areas:

1. INVESTIGATIONS OF DRAG-REDUCING NON-NEWTONIAN FLUIDS.

3 areas of special interest are :

1.1. Fluid Mechanics and convective heat transfer characteristics of viscoelastic fluids

1.2. Energy conservation in hydronic systems through the use of drag-reducing additives

1.3. Rheology of surfactant and polymer solutions

and

2. FLUID FLOW, HEAT TRANSFER, AND SOLIDIFICATION DURING MANUFACTURING AND MATERIALS PROCESSING

A brief summary of our materials processing work can be found here
